WOW, is almost all I have to say about this session, but I must go on. Blue jeans and white tees, beautiful faces, adorable children, a rock-n-roll vibe, and smiles all around, made this session one of my favorites.
It all started when Jenny reached out wanting two sessions, one for her growing family and another for her and Steve’s 40th wedding anniversary. The back story was, they met while they both worked in a record shop and music has continued to be a center piece for their relationship and their family. She wanted family photos that would have the feel of a rock band’s album cover.
So I got to work, first the location. I had a few ideas in my mind but I knew that the Brighton Light House was getting close to completing their sister location, All Heart Garage. After peeking in the large garage door glass windows, I explained the space to Jenny and told her it would be perfect. She trusted me and agreed. Then, I got to work curating props, stools, and chairs. I knew I wanted wood and a few pops of color. By the time the family photo session came, I had a wide range of things. Some of which I plundered from my own home, like the wooden bar stools.
Although most of the session was just on this one set, we got a good variety of family images.
Thank you Jenny for hiring me for these special photos. I hope the sneak peek lends to the vibe you were looking for. I’m certainly obsessed!!! And, I cannot wait to take your anniversary photos in October. It is so evident that you a Steve have built a life of love and joy and I am honored to capture this stage of your life with my lens. XO, Kelly Harper
Kelly we can’t thank you enough for your time and patience with such a large group! You did an incredible job and went the extra mile to understand and accommodate what I was picturing.
Thanks again and see you in October!
