I have known Brayden’s parents a long time and it is a strange thing when people you knew in high school’s children are graduating from high school, but here we are, Brayden is about to graduate from Canton High School. A milestone and accomplishment that is worthy of not only celebrating, but also documenting.
I know mom and dad are taking pictures of all the things, the last first day of school, the last homecoming, and all the big and little moments the next few months will bring. Lucky for me though, I got to take these pictures. When asked if we could do the portraits in Ann Arbor, Graffiti Alley just felt right. We have come full circle because if my memory serves me correctly, I remember his dad was very good at street art when he was Brayden’s age. Even if it was not intentional, what a special way to keep the legacy alive.
But we didn’t just stop at the alley, we also shot from the Republic Parking Structure and Broadway Park. My goal was not only make Brayden comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy his time with me, but to also let his personality shine through.
Bruce and Roxanne, my goodness how did we even get here? Can you believe it, we really are the “old people” now, aren’t we? Thank you so much for engaging me to take these special photos of your son. I am humbled that you asked. Enjoy the sneak peek for now, I am super excited to delivery the final gallery. XO – Kelly Harper
