All week long Barb and I stalked the weather apps, it was supposed to not just rain, but thunderstorm during her long awaited family photos. Barb’s son was in from Portland this week and we couldn’t just reschedule. So I prayed! The day before the chances of rain at this time of day was like 86%. I told Bard, “the weather changes often in Michigan and there have been so many times my sessions were supposed to be rained out and more often than not, I got lucky and it didn’t rain, let’s just pray it changes.” And I prayed! Then, the morning of it didn’t look like it was going to change, so we made a contingent plan, were I would take them inside at another location. Not ideal or what Barb originally wanted but we did not have the ability to reschedule. I still prayed! The day went on, the radar started to change and guess what…the clouds parted and rain stopped and we got to still take the photos in her picture perfect backyard. THANK YOU JESUS!
It was evident when I got there how fun and loving this family was. Every single one of their children, in laws and grandkids were a pleasure to work with. I even had fun trying to capture little Julia, although I was a huge fan of hers, I don’t think the feelings were mutual. That is totally okay, I still think she was the cutest little thing there.
Thank you Barb and Mike for this opportunity. It was so wonderful to see everyone come together to make these images happen for you. I hope you cherish them even more in the years to come, than you do right now. As this is a reflection of your wonderful children and beautiful grandkid’s stages of life, just for a second frozen in time. From my lens to your hearts…XO, Kelly Harper
They’re are adorable … we love them – can’t wait for the final reveal – but thanks for the prayers for sunshine & our personal oasis as a backdrop to our family’s time together
