So over the past several months, you may have noticed a lot of my sessions have been at the Brighton Light House. Now finally, I was honored to capture the owners and their beauty family on these special grounds.

If you are like me, your first thought might be…”there is a lighthouse in Brighton?” Well not a lighthouse, but yes a Light House. Within the past few years the Brighton Light House became a unique addition to the growing downtown Brighton area. On two acres, nestled in next to the rail road tracks on Brighton Lake Road, it is a beautiful 1920’s brick home, restored and expanded to it’s original period and it “serves as a platform for professional and personal growth with functional spaces, state of the art technology, and enriching programs.” I like to tell people it is perfect for anything, think ANYTHING!!! I use it as co-working office space, in addition to a beautiful shoot location, but it can be used for personal or business meetings, events (even weddings!!!), workshops, and more. Their is a impressive board room, single offices, an art studio, a charming kitchen, and my favorite the sprawling backyard (with a micro park coming soon). If you haven’t checked the place out, it is worth it a visit. You can also find all the fun upcoming events being held there on the website. This summer they have hosted a number of kids camps, art workshops, even yoga in the backyard. Also, they are soon opening a sister location, the All Heart Garage on Rickette Road, which will serve the community in another unique way. You should come to the ribbon cutting, grand opening on September 15, which will include a fun classic car show.

I could go on forever about this place, so to make a long story short, I found it on accident and I believe it was an act God himself. This family and this facility have been such a blessing to me personally, as well as my a blessing to my business.

Okay enough about that…lets get to the good stuff here. Dan and Anna, are some of the sweetest people I know, so I was so excited when Anna reached out to ask if I would do their family photos. Um, YEAH!!! You mean I get to take pictures of the owners of the place I quite literally can’t stop talking about. I would be honored right!?! Then I found out these would be special photos because they will be soon celebrating 25 years of marriage. What an exciting mile stone! During this time, they have not only built an empire, they more importantly raised three beautiful children, James, Alex, and Rory. These five were a joy to work with and it was so fun to witness their interactions and love for each other.

Dan and Anna, words can’t begin to express how grateful I am for what the two of you are doing for small businesses like mine. You are a true blessing. Congratulations on 25 years!!! Your joyful and giving spirits overfull and touch everyone you meet. Thank you again for everything, I look forward to seeing what you do next, as you step into your future. XO, Kelly Harper
