WOW, how fast does a year fly by!?! I met Tim and Sarah a little over a year ago, right before Miss Riley was born. I had started my photography business just weeks prior and I begged them to let me take maternity photos of them. One thing led to another and next I was doing newborn photos, Christmas photos and now…THE BIG ONE…the one year old milestone photos!!!
When they arrived at the session today, they were worried that Riley might not cooperate, given a missed nap, but she did not fuss at all. She rocked her session, even with 3 outfit changes, she is a natural born model. Yes, she gave us some funny looks a few times, because there was four of us behind the camera goofing off and making funny sounds. But, other than wondering what us weird adults were doing, she was all smiles. She was very intrigued by the furry chair and was eager to explore the grounds of the Brighton Light House. Her curiosity made for some great photos that I’m sure mom and dad will cherish forever.
After leading mom and dad around by the river, it was time to really get serious, after all she had a cake to SMASH! Riley didn’t hesitate, dad barely had time to get out of the frame before the cake hit her mouth. No investigating, no taking a minute to look, NO…it was hand to cake, cake to mouth, in less than point 2 seconds. And, SHE LOVED IT!!! See for yourself.
Sarah and Tim, thank you so much for trusting me to do this. Not everyone got to see your little girl taste the cake for the first time, but I was there and I got to witness it with you. Not only was it an honor and a blessing, it was so exciting! Now just hang onto your seats because this entire gallery is going to have you going gaga. Love you both, XO – Kelly Harper
Taryn and Dan’s wedding at Waldenwoods felt like a love story plucked straight from the pages of a dreamy novel or a verse of a good Taylor Swift song—and honestly, that was the vibe Taryn had in mind. BTW she nailed it!!!
If I could describe Adrianne and John’s wedding day at ‘Collins at the Clocktower’ in Chelsea, MI in two words it would be “romantic fairytale”. From beginning to end not a detail was missed to make their day as dreamy as possible. The setting inside the venue was the perfect backdrop to bring this vibe to life. The historic landmark is jaw dropping in every way, the simple elegance of the large ceremony space seemed fit just right and the grand ballroom on the third floor with large wall to wall windows overlooking the town spoke for itself!
April and Nick’s wedding was held on the lawn of a charming southern-style clubhouse, with large wrap-around porches and breathtaking views of the Atlantic as their backdrop…
