Last month, I had the pleasure of participating in a 70’s romance styled shoot as a photographer at the beautiful Lux West Studio in Muskegon, MI. The shoot was a collaborative effort featuring three stunning brides and two handsome grooms.
The brides looked absolutely breathtaking in their gowns from JaeLaimee Bridal. And, the grooms looked dapper in their tailored suits also from JaeLaimee Bridal and Asos, which were sometimes paired with sequined cowboy hats from After Glo Neon, that added a touch of 70’s glam. Disco balls were placed on the floor throughout the studio, along with hanging floral blooms, a romantic swing, and velvet sofas, no detail was left out. All of this added a fun and playful element to the photos and we were able to capture some truly unique shots.
Roller skates were also incorporated into the shoot, which added another element of spontaneity to the photos. The couples were able to skate around the studio, creating some one of a kind shots that really captured their personalities.
Lastly, the hand-painted cake was a work of art. The cake was beautifully decorated with a whimsical design, complete with vibrant colors and stunning floral. It was the perfect addition to the shoot, tying all of the elements together into a cohesive and visually stunning theme.
After we finished shooting in the studio, we made our way to the beach with a vintage VW bug as our prop. The car added the perfect touch of nostalgia to the shoot, and we were able to capture some amazing shots of the couples. The beach provided us with a stunning backdrop, and the natural lighting was just perfect.
Overall, the 70’s romance styled shoot was a huge success. It was great to work with a talented team of vendors who all came together to create something beautiful. The disco balls, sequined cowboy hats, roller skates, hand-painted cake, and VW Bug were just a few of the many elements that made this shoot so unique and special. I’m grateful to have been a part of this project. I’m looking forward to working on more styled shoots in the future, as they provide a great opportunity to push my creativity and collaborate with other talented individuals in the industry.
Dear Lux West Studio team, I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks for hosting such a wonderful 70’s romance styled shoot. Your attention to detail and creative vision were evident in every aspect of the shoot, and it was a pleasure to work with such a talented and passionate team. I had so much fun!!! Thank you again for a job well done! XO – Kelly Harper
Taryn and Dan’s wedding at Waldenwoods felt like a love story plucked straight from the pages of a dreamy novel or a verse of a good Taylor Swift song—and honestly, that was the vibe Taryn had in mind. BTW she nailed it!!!
If I could describe Adrianne and John’s wedding day at ‘Collins at the Clocktower’ in Chelsea, MI in two words it would be “romantic fairytale”. From beginning to end not a detail was missed to make their day as dreamy as possible. The setting inside the venue was the perfect backdrop to bring this vibe to life. The historic landmark is jaw dropping in every way, the simple elegance of the large ceremony space seemed fit just right and the grand ballroom on the third floor with large wall to wall windows overlooking the town spoke for itself!
April and Nick’s wedding was held on the lawn of a charming southern-style clubhouse, with large wrap-around porches and breathtaking views of the Atlantic as their backdrop…
